The Japanese footwear label Onitsuka Tiger, the other half of Asics have completed an impressive project with Yoske Nishiumi, founder of Koiklub Berlin launching alongside his 2nd collection: "Big Koi", the campaign includes the production of a real cartoon, made by a young french artist: Wu Yue aka Nyno. Koi is a Japanese term that has as many as six different meanings and definitions, include ‘The Ancient Way’, these words are printed on the insole of the sneaker and are represented in the small animated advertising cartoon. This basic yet impressive sneaker mixes wool and leather inspired by that of a varsity jacket and will be available in 3 simple colourways, black, red and gray and include some highly detailed laces that include the letters of Koi in Japanese. The animated ad will be on You Tube soon, we’ll keep you updated. Some of you might remember this isn’t the first time Koiklub have colaborated with Onitsuka, check out their past project and more info on them here. and at Beinghunted from last year. BKRW have captured some great images that you can see below.
