Nike and Adidas are definitely leading the way with sporting labels, often sparking the question which one do you prefer out of the more innovative Nike and then the more classical and traditional Adidas. Having seen the conclusion of soccer’s Euro 2008 in which two teams wearing Adidas competed in the final with Spain coming out on top, it is interesting to hear that NIke made more of a financial gain than Adidas who also back soccer’s governing body FIFA
Here are a couple of commercials with the first evident of Nike’s dominence, boasting a number of Spains leading players in a very creative ad for Nike who sponsor the players individually. This is compared to the commercial further down the page featuring the Portugal national team who do wear Nike, and although less successful during the tournament boast the hottest talent in football, another Nike sponsored player Christaino Ronaldo. This all with the most recognizable team on the planet Brazil, a Nike sponsored team are struggling in their qualification for the World Cup.
