The Contemporary Fix’s Mastermind Japan Guerilla Store

Posted on 11 July 2008

Yuichi Yoshii best known for his creative work at Tokyo’s stand out store Loveless, has embarked on a new project called The Contemporary Fix. "Using guerrilla vocabulary, he destroyed his former (and popular) Aoyama restaurant, Pariya, keeping only the excavated foundations and adding metal structures from construction sites to create the very raw aesthetic of the new shop. It will change monthly and host various ephemeral projects." With the first project to be a part of the new wave from The Contemporary Fix had to be Mastermind Japan "notorious for its cultivation of punk sensibilities within a high-fashion environment— their skull-and-crossbones logo appears on almost all of their products. Mastermind finally had their first flagship in Tokyo" all be it short term. With a host of great pieces available and showcase from Bearbricks to an amazing logo-emblazoned motorbike, the store fit out really brings out the best of Mastermind. Looking forward to see the nesxt name set for this space, with possibility’s a plenty with curation and retail his expertise
