A range items from the Raf by Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2008 Collection has arrived recently at Oak. Including a variety of impressive pieces ranging from a carcoat and woven blazer, to a range of leather sneakers. The Belgian designer has long been one of my favourite designers combining classic tailoring with streetwear sensibility to create collections that have to an extent a sort of avant-garde and futuristic yet wearable appeal, In doing so he has been credited over the years as one of the most influential innovators of contemporary fashion.
While Simons mentions that “The whole idea of this collection is to work on the body, which is that of a young boy on its journey to grow into that of a mature man - and to capture the budding spirit in between”, we see that this is well reflected through the items in the collection.
