Yesterday we gave you the first look at this quite impressive coming together of two names at the pinnacle of their work. Artist Kaws (THE NEW ORDER issue 2) and architect company Wonderwall who are headed by the well known Masamichi Katayama. The outcome is a pair of figures which reflect the relationship between the two, having begun when Wonderwall designed the Original Fake store in Tokyo, Japan. The brick wall finish that is finsihed well in two different colors makes for a really great release.

KAWS continues to add new figures to his ever growing arsenal, this time collaborating with Masamichi Katayam and his company Wonderwall, the company responsible for the OriginalFake, Tokyo store, amongst so many other high profile stores, from BAPE to colette. The figure will come in 2 versions and measures 22cm in height when it releases February 2010.

As one approaches the chic, monochromatic façade, the bold multi-colored interior walls are revealed through the central atrium.

Common areas such as the lobby and the library on the ground floor, and the spa, fitness gym, and bar lounge on the top floor are all designed with Wonder-wall’s distinctively detailed and luxuriously modern design ethos. Having created some of the best retail spaces in the industry (see here for a full list),  it is great to see Wonderwall take his design to another new level. Recently Nike opened one of its most compelling retail spaces on the globe located in Harajuku, Tokyo. Designed by renowned design company Wonderwall, it is truly a sight to withold and take in once inside with numerous facets that impress. In addition, Nike have set up a quite impressive online presence to accompany the store and amongst many of the features are some great films created along with W+K. The Nike Harajuku website is well worth taking some time to navigate around and admire the features.

Architecture firm Wonderwall has updated their website with help from Yugo Nakamura to create a virtual world inside such interiors as A Bathing Apes’s Pirate Store online. Using Flash and bending it to their will they have created a virtual store where you can shop and browse through A Bathing Ape products, A.P.C homme store, Dean & Deluca Cafe, Original Fake, Beams, colette Window Installations, Marc Jacobs, Rat Hole Gallery and the list goes on! Certainly the way in which this digital world is heading, it can take the joy out of the real life experience but this online experience is actually quite amazing! You simply click on the square you want to visit and the it opens into a large, colorful square and then a big arrow points you in the direction to go. Go see for yourself!

UNIQLO opened their 3rd global flagship store on Thursday night in the city of Paris. Housed within newly renovated Neo-Classical building with the retail space designed by Masamichi Katayama (片山正通) and his firm Wonderwall, the new store will take on the name Paris Opera Store, a reference to the historical Palais Garnier across the street.  easured around 23,000 square-feet in interior space, the store will also be one of the largest. The store opening will also conincide with their highly anticipated Jil Sander X UNIQLO - Fall 2009 – J+ Collection. As the final preparations go underway for the new store for Japanese brand Uniqlo in Paris we get to see an inside look at it’s new home venue. Set to be named Paris Opera Store, a reference to the historical Palais Garnier (or commonly known as Paris Opera House) across the street, architect Masamichi Katayama and his firm Wonderwall will completely revamp the interior into a multi-level store, complete with a grand staircase and skylight.  Measured at 23,000 square-feet, the store will be one of the largest existing Uniqlo stores.  Plans for opening are to coincide with the global launch of new Jil Sander for Uniqlo on the 1st of October 2009.
