Ai Weiwei “Art/Architecture” Exhibition at The Kunsthaus Bregenz
Kunsthaus Bregenz Director Yilmaz Dziewior explores the architectural work of Ai Weiwei with a solo show titled simply entitled “Art / Architecture”. The vocal point of the installation is Weiwei’s social and political interest which are strongly represented in his architecture.
On the three floors of architect Peter Zumthor’s Kunsthaus building, the exhibition focuses on Ai Weiwei’s projects such as the Beijing National Stadium which was developed in collaboration with the Pritzker price winning architects Herzog & de Meuron, while other projects are also highlighted this makes for notable interest.
Take a look at the video below as you get a good walk through the exhibition with an insight into the architectural models, plans, photographs and video documentations of specific projects on the 1st floor, while on the second floor with Ordos 100, a piece specifically created for this show, and finally culminates with the most abstract work of the show, Moon Chest.
