Opening on May 13, Lisson Gallery while host world renowned artist Ai Weiwei who is currently being detained in his native China for alleged economic crimes, a term frequently used by the Communist Party as a legal cover for someone considered a political threat. Planned before Weiwei’s disappearance, the exhibition will present key sculptures and video projects including his Moon Chest series and Monumental Junkyard so let’s hope for all his fans that he is released in time to make an appearance.
