Alfonso Batalla “A Dolphin For Damien” – Damien Hirst Tribute
As part of his series “Landscape Under Construction” which sees vacant spaces filled with life, Spanish artist Alfonso Batalla has created “A Dolphin for Damien”, a tribute to Damien Hirst in the spirit of the British artist’s famous installation “The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living”, in which a full-size tiger shark was preserved in a display case with formaldehyde. According to the artist, each sculpture in the series “probes the audience to reassess the idea of the present and past, often referencing familial childhood objects, which inevitably then become the key intellectual protagonists of each composition.” More from the project here.
