In an unprecedented move into the fine art world, online retailer Amazon has launched a new store, stocking upwards of 40,000 works by over 4,500 artists, supplied by more than 150 international galleries and dealers. Works range from affordable pieces by contemporary artists, to masterworks by the likes of Norman Rockwell and Claude Monet, that reach well above the $4 million mark. While not everyone will be inclined to take advantage of a system like this, it does provide a new level of access to a huge archive of art from across the ages to collectors and fans.
