Solo show by Australian artist Anthony Lister titled ‘And Then The Wind Changed’ is due to open Saturday 12th September 2009 at New Image Art in Los Angeles. Running through to October 17th 2009 the show is said to feature new works by Lister that emphasis with his experiences as a youth in northern Australia and participating in the repetition as a father of two. Superheroes, skateboarding, graffiti, Australian gangster celebrities, television, jail birds, tattoos, the internet, pop and advertising resurface in his art practice. A the artist states “I am not trying to change the world… I am just reacting to a world that is trying to change me”. Be sure to check this exhibition out. Anthony Lister is definitely one man to watch.
