Cherri Wood has sent us some great pictures of her studio space and sketch book as she prepares for her next show, A Mirror Distorted, opening with us here at Carmichael Gallery on Thursday night.

The talented nineteen year old also described her process for creating her new body of work.

“Normally I do not plan out what the concepts of my work are in great detail as that doesn’t come to me naturally. Instead I try to just record feelings that I or anyone experiences. The pieces that I will be showing explore feelings of worry, doubt, and helplessness. With an exception of one, the pieces are in black and white and I decided to work in graphite and ink with some applications of text transfers. Film and music is what I am currently very influenced by as well as dreams.”
