The Cooper Design Space are preparing to launch a new and permanent installation at the historical building in downtown Los Angeles. The Cooper Video Wall focuses on “discovering” emerging talent and combining that with showcasing established names with the likes of Michel Gondry.
The idea behind that wall is it is supposed to surprise people who walk into the space to discover a new film or message or photography that they may never have seen before (in the same way people discover artists at museums or galleries that they may never have heard of).
Cooper’s vision is different. Steve Hirsh, the owner of the building, wanted people to be entertained by moving images and excellent work regardless of whether the filmmaker or photographer was known. The Cooper Video Wall is a destination piece to see great work in animation, shorts, videos and photography. The Wall also has the capability of showing interactive video pieces but that is something to be revealed in the future.
