Say what you will about the art wall on Bowery & Houston. There has been (and continues to be) an immense amount of creativity on that particular street corner. The latest artist to take over the wall is graffiti legend COPE2, who takes his signature bubble letters to the Manhattan location. Covering the wall in a style much more akin to traditional bombing rather than an artsy mural (we wouldn’t expect anything else from the guy), the Bronx-based artist brings a vibrancy to the wall with colorful paintwork, hand styles, shout-outs and pop-art references. He joins the ranks of previous Bowery wall artists Keith Haring, Os Gemeos, Barry McGee, Kenny Scharf, Shepard Fairey, Revok, Retna and others, ensuring the legacy lives on.
