Saturday, May 30th marked the 4th Annual Culver City Artwalk, a day when some of LA’s finest galleries open their doors to the city’s art lovers. One highlight of the day was the new group exhibition at LeBasse Projects. Owners/Curators Beau and Christine pose below between two gorgeous new works by Edwin Ushiro and a museum-worthy sculpture by Yoskay Yamamoto.

Down the street, Thinkspace Gallery played host to another great event with their pop-up show, ‘Culver City Invasion’, which featured walls of art, live painting, a poetry slam, and DJing by co-owner LC. The crowd inside was intense.

Other spaces visited included Cerasoli, Corey Helford Gallery, Billy Shire Fine Arts, Roberts and Tilton, Blum and Poe, and Kinsey/DesForges. There were countless other galleries open for the artwalk, but it was simply impossible to see them all. Great crowds and positive energy all round, however – a good sign for the art world. Looking forward to Artwalk 2010!
