While the world’s economy seems in array, Damien Hirst’s economy is far from recession. The much talked about auction handling some 223 lots, began last night in London with the first night seeing 56 lots go under the hammer, fetching, above its estimated value, $126,623,656 USD! The infamous pickled Shark ‘The Kingdom’ was estimated between $7 and $11 million, sold for $17,242,370 USD. Expect more news to come after the second day of auctions.
