Juxtapoz captured images of some really impressive shots of Dan Witz collection of oil on canvas paintings of settings during midnight hours, hence the title “Night Paintings”. Witz a recognized street artist has made a more than successful step away into a gallery providing a unique collection of works. Combining old master techniques with the latest digital technology “these evocative nocturnal paintings take an almost invisible banality of our everyday lives and invest it with new mystery and significance.”

Witz pays tribute to Ed Ruscha’s 26 gasoline stations and Joseph Wright of Derby while other inspiration comes from older western religious painting, where physical light was a metaphor for spiritual revelation and enlightenment. Night Paintings runs October 10th through to October 19th at Stolen Space in London, a must see if in the area.
