New York-based artist David Benjamin Sherry is gearing up for his solo show at OHWOW Los Angeles, opening on the 30th of April. The presentation will include both traditional color prints and photographic collage work, these contrasting bodies of work aim to show tension between each other, while at the same time drawing parallels between Earth’s properties and human existence.
The photography based constructions aim to “explore specified geometric formations, based on the mathematical design of our planet and solar system.” While the body of highly saturated chromogenic prints “depict expressive rock-like structures, continue the dialogue between object and interpretation. Sculptures painstakingly created over time, then later photographed.”
The exhibition runs untill the 27th of May, 2011 at OHOWOW Los Angeles, 937 N. La Cienega Blvd. For more info visit the site.
