Making its debut at the Wörthersee festival in Reifnitz, Volkswagen has introduced the ‘design vision GTI’ – a concept race car capable of producing
503 horsepower. Based on the seventh-generation model, the ‘design vision GTI’ is equipped with a turbocharged direct injection 3.0 liter V6 that
develops a maximum figure of 413 lb-ft torque. Coupled with a DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, the vehicle
can reach 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds – reaching a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph ). Volkswagen has fitted the hatchback with large
carbon-ceramic brake discs, featuring integrated blades that are designed to vent hot brake gas through the wheel openings.
