‘A Royal manual typewriter is thrown out of the window of a 1963 Buick traveling at ninety miles per hour’, is the plot for Ed Ruscha’s picture story book entitled Royal Road Test 1967. A collaboration effort from Ed Ruscha, Mason Williams & Patrick Blackwell; Ruscha’s role is of the driver, Blackwell the photographer, and Williams the “thrower”. Inside images consist mostly of a beaten up typewriter and an investigation into the typewriters death. See below for a taster of images.
