First, if you can remember back, what was it that drove you to start Fuct all those years ago?

The industry back then was known simply as the skateboard industry (Action Sports Retail)- I was drawing graphics for a handful of skateboard companies at the time – Around 1987-88 I met Shawn Stussy at an ASR show, I pestered him about how he began, etc…and he simply said “just do your own line” and a couple years later, that’s what I did. Shawn was a major inspiration for the few brands coming out during that era.

Whats changed, has your motivation changed?

I am older now and want to challenge myself with a larger medium.

Where do you find inspiration, is there a particular direction and path you want to see your films take?

I find inspiration in everything I see and have experienced – I have lived in Los Angeles since 1988 – Los Angeles, California as a whole, influences me greatly. I am attracted to people and situations that express harder times and redemption, individuals who step out side the line and try to make it back.
