Louis Vuitton’s maison on prestigious Omotesando Dori in Tokyo has been closed for months due to a massive renovation, and with news the doors will reopen is more than welcoming. One focal point of the renovation is the creation of a new art space, dubbed ‘Espace Vuitton Tokyo’ that is perched on the 7th floor. January 15 will mark the opening of the pace while French artist Xavier Veilhan has been selected for the venue’s inaugural exhibition entitled “Free Fall, which currently on show at the Espace Vuitton New York space.

Taking inspiration from the Espace Vuitton Tokyo elevated spot on the top floor of the store, the exhibition features a series of prints, sculptures and installation that more or less reflect this theme. One piece of great distinction is a statue fittingly entitled the ‘Tokyo Statue, a 4-metre Giacometti-like sculpture in polyester resin, crafted entirely in abstract facets.
