Che Guevara | 'Chevolution' Film
One of the most recognizable images around would have to be that of Che Guevara taken by fashion photographer Alberto Korda during the sixties. The images was from then on used to market products such as cigarette’s, alcohol, tee shirts and poster images, all of course because the images was never copyrighted; being initially copyright free in accordance with the law in communist Cuba at the time. Alberto Korda’s daughter Gael Garcia Bernal has set out to discover this ‘Chevolution‘ movement and what that means. Alongside Antonio Banderas, Jim Fitzgerald and Gerry Adams, Gael Garcia Bernal was able to share their views on the image taken and the myths surrounding it. An informative and inspiring piece of work, DazedDigital grabbed some time with the film’s director Trisha Ziff which you can read here.
