Five Minutes With Fraser Cooke
Having enjoyed a very fruitful time with events and some pretty amazing product we had to take a break from our series of mini interview’s. Now we are back with Nike’s Fraser Cooke, the DJ who has just come off the back of playing an influential role with Nike’s involvement in the Boneyards project with Stussy and Neighborhood. Check out his answers to our questions below.
SlamxHype – Whats the best thing about the place you were born?
Fraser Cooke – The diversity of cultures, amount of new things always happening and sense of humour.
SXH – Whats your main consumer vice?
FC – Maybe magazines records and clothing
SXH – Which 3 people would you want to have dinner with, if you could eat with anyone?
FC – I’ve been pretty lucky and have either had the chance to have a dinner with certain inspirational people I never expected to meet or just have great friends who I love to eat with anyway. Not desperate to meet and dine with anyone to be honest. I’ll just take it as it comes.
SXH – Whats your favourite website not related to streetwear, art or fashion?
FC – BBC News, Gemm and Amazon.com
SXH – Best new fashion/streetwear brand of 2008?
FC – Very hard to answer. Not many new this year. Undercover dedicated mens collection, Uniform experiment maybe?
SXH – Best song thus far in 2008?
FC – Where’s Jason’s K by Syclops AKA Maurice Fulton. Amazing track and great album
SXH – Best decade for music?
FC – Tough. Probably 80’s for my generation. Hip Hop House techno etc. All those things started at that time and pop was good too.
SXH – Best decade for art?
FC -It’s pretty good right now. 60’s and 80’s were good also.
SXH – Songs you consider to be timeless?
FC – Too many to list. any really good track can remain timeless if it was great to begin with.
SXH – What did you have for breakfast?
FC – Spelt cereal, Rice dream milk, spelt toast with organic marmalade and coffee substitute. basically all healthy stuff.
