“Flower” and “Melt” Chairs by Philipp Aduatz

Philipp Aduatz is a Vienna, Austria based designer that will be showcasing these remarkable chairs entitled “Flower” and “Melt” at London Design Week later this month. Recently completing his PhD in Natural Sciences has definitely influenced his work which are very organic and flowing. According to the Aduatz the melting chair represents “either as a solid chair melting away or as a solidification of a liquid melt. The final object is made out of a fiberglass reinforced polymer, a light and strong composite material that is very durable. The surface is coated with a special mirror coating for a metallic appearance. A special clear lacquer is used to protect the mirror coating from aging and makes the surface of the Melting Chair scratch resistant.”

The Flower chair albeit less flashy looks a bit more practical and more futuristic than its predecessor. You can catch these at Tent London September 22-25 during London Design Week.
