Most of you will remember that when Hirst’s infamous For the Love of God $100 million diamond emblazoned skull went on display at White Cube Gallery in 2007, it was announced that the asking price was met and the skull was sold to a private investment group. Revealed shortly after was that the majority share of this group was made up by Hirst, along with his business manager Frank Dunphy and White Cube’s Jay Jopling.
This week, its been revealed that the fouth investor is Russian billionaire Viktor Pinchuk, who is currently hosting a major Hirst Retrospective at his own Pinchuk Art Centre in Kiev.
