Frank Gehry’s Visitors Bench for the World Company
Frank Gehry is without a doubt one of my favourite Architects of all time, known for his decontructivist and post-modernist approach to designs, perhaps the most well known for the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, a building completely cladded in surplus titanium from Russia. Although Gehry rarely do one-off pieces, he recently designed a visitors bench for World Company building in Tokyo. Japan’s largest fashion house with over 90 labels and 3000+ retail outlets. It was just installed a few weeks ago and the people over at core77 were able to sneak in for a closer look last night while they were hanging a banner in the front for design week.
