With its eerie imagery of overt pastel-hued and pastoral-viewed perfection, Rubecksen Yamanaka’s film for Future Tense is somewhat reminiscent of the sinister turn-of-the-century vision of Picnic at Hanging Rock. These allusions are not wholly coincidental, given that the labels most recent collections were inspired by bisque dolls and Victorian nature and landscape photography, Yamanaka’s video has some intrusion of the modern world, some modicum of reality, but as Miranda declares at Hanging Rock “What we see and what we seem is but a dream – a dream within a dream.”

Story direct from Future Tense, where you can check out this great film featuring some insane cinematography.
