Invader At The "Grifters" Group Show For Lazarides Gallery
If your in London you may have noticed new street art by some of the biggest names on the scene, this is because Lazarides Gallery is celebrating the first year of their new Rathbone Place gallery, with the “Grifters” group show in which much of the art will be nowhere near the cosy confines of their glamorous gallery.
“Grifters” runs throughout December and will focus on all new works from artists in all manner of mediums, from sculpture to installation, canvas to collage, paper to poster, performance to photography. Alongside the gallery offerings, a series of paintings and street sculptures have begun to pop up all over the City, so keep your eyes peeled. The Rathbone Place gallery will also be handed over to these artists who will be taking over all four floors with their work.
On of the highlights has to from French artist Invader, who’s neon sculpture is on display at the gallery and who has also been throwing up new pieces all over London. The piece below is on Brick Lane, but I also spied a painting on Rathbone St last night… let us know if you see any more.
The exhibitions and street interventions take place at Lazarides 11 Rathbone Place, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 1HR, and SHOP at Lazarides 8 Greek Street, Soho, London, W1D 4DG, as well as out and about across the streets of London until 16th January 2010.
