New York-based artist José Parlá is busy preparing for a new show in Tokyo entitled “PROSE.” Having forged together an innovative style of work that combines graffiti with calligraphy, Parla continues to inspire and influence on many levels of expression. “PROSE,” which is defined as “the ordinary form of spoken or written language, withoutmetrical structure, as distinguished from poetry or verse” not only defines his intricate, densely-layered style of work. The exhibition will be hosted by YUKA TSURUNO GALLERY at their new TOLOT/heuristic SHINONOME in an area renowned for galleries. Opening on March 21 the exhibition will run until May 18, while a 40-page commemorative catalog will be produced.
