Limited Edition "Ari Marcopoulos: Directory"
New out on Rizzoli this Spring April 2011, is Ari Marcopoulos: Directory by Ari Marcopoulos with text by Neville Wakefield, A Nieves Limited Edition.
Rizzoli’s nose has definitely been on the grindstone. As the publisher famous for its cutting edge and beautifully edited art tomes, Rizzoli has been churning out hit after hit. From KAWS to Herb Ritts to Daido Moriyama and more, this time around, they’ve teamed up with filmmaker/photographer Ari Marcopoulos and Swiss publisher Nieves for Ari Marcopoulos: Directory. The 1,200 pages filled with a couple short of 1,200 of his most recent work, makes this a monumental limited edition phone-book-sized volume. A serious yet intimate body of Ari’s recent work, this is a must have for any fan. Whether he’s making short films for YSL, documenting skateboarders and graffiti artists, on magazine shoot or finding his way into the Whitney Biennial, his unique style has made him one of the most influential contemporary photographers.
With only 2,000 copies, each one with a signed print, I’ve already put my name down for one. You best do the same.
