UK artist Malarky celebrated the opening of his first solo gallery exhibition at Beach London on Wednesday night (December 5th), by launching a small show with plenty of character. Puppy Snatcher saw Malarky bring his signature vibrancy to a host of new artworks, featuring familiar characters, and an expansion into ceramic modelling – a new medium for the artist. This medium was realized through a series of smashed plates and smiling, jumper-wearing spaniels, lending a distinct air of disconcerted joy to the gallery. Other work featured renderings of the artist’s ubiquitous fox character – seen on walls throughout London – three-eyed animals, and Wu-Tang symbols. A strong debut solo effort from MalarkyPuppy Snatcher will run until February 2, 2014.
