To coincide with his project entitled ‘Ancient Evenings’, an on going performance based work in seven parts in partnership with musical composer Jonathan Bepler, Matthew Barney is currently on show at London’s Sadie Coles. Showcasing his very delicate works each inspired by the 1983 novel Ancient Evenings which talks about the Egyptian belief of mythology and the seven passages of the soul after death: Ren, Khu, Sekhem, Ba, Ka, Khaibit, and Sekhu, his drawings touch on the idea of the seven acts in themes of mythology, death, rebirth, and reincarnation.

The exhibition runs until March 6th 2010. Sadie Coles 69 South Audley St, London W1.
