Zex, a character inspired from Michael Lau’s participation in the ‘From Rio to Hong Kong’ exhibition presented by Diesal in 2007, where Lau contributed the A to Zex series of Lau’s signature freehand pencil illustration. As Gardener 108 in Lau’s infamous series, the original 12″ Gardener, was introduced for the 10th anniversary, which included a collaboration with SLAMXHYPE. Zex, being a member of the Gardener family, embodies the same free spirit and street attitude Lau had always attached to the characters living in the world of his imaginary garden.
