Michael Stipe 'No Title' at Levi's Photo Workshop
REM frontman Michael Stipe launches his latest project today – though this time in the vein of photography and film. Michael decided to make his work, No Title, after spending time in the Levi’s Photo Workshop in SoHo, New York – a community space that functions as a photography studio and encourages creative production from any and all. Michael’s inspiration was to modernize the classical bust form by capturing bust photographs of 40 people, each in 8 different positions. To create a more three-dimensional look, Michael linked the 320 photographs together in a film short to create the final product. Drawing from the democratic and accessible vibe of the Workshop, Michael welcomed anyone who came into the space to participate as subjects in the project. Have a look at the Behind the Scenes footage below.
