The third annual Muji design award took place this year, with the central theme being “Found MUJI” taking wisdom and product knowledge accumulated by our predecessors and apply them into a modern design. The panel of judges including Naoto Fukusawa and Jasper Morrison selected a total of 7 prizes out of 1,986 entries from 35 countries, with the winning Gold prize design this year being drinking straws made from an actual wheat straw material. Other interesting winners include rubbish bags that stand up on its own, hooks that imitate traditional use of wall nails.
