NOWNESS: Irving Blum on Sleeping Girl
Auction House Sotheby’s recently talked to Pop Gallerist, Irving Blum about Roy Lichtenstein’s iconic “Sleeping Girl”. The series of short films headed by Sotheby’s Worldwide Head of Contemporary Art Tobias Meyer, starts with Mr. Blum and will continue with Chief Curator of the MOCA Paul Schimmel on April 23rd and then to Tom Ford on April 30th. The piece was in a private collection for the past 50 years and is currently on display at Sotheby’s London, from there it will travel to New York where it will be auctioned off starting at approximately $40 million.
