The Micro 4/3 market continues to heat up with the unveiling of  Panasonic’s GF2 camera, which is slated for a January release. As a fan of this camera type, this certainly is exciting news. I just picked up its predecessor, the GF1, in what I viewed as an upgrade from the very capable and fun Olympus E-PL1 and since receiving the GF1, I have not been able to put down. Panasonic definitely has a great thing going with their GF series with its simple styling, sturdy build and fairly powerful performance all within a lovely, compact design. And speaking of compact design, the GF2 has shed almost a fifth of its size and a little bit of its overall weight, but in doing so, it apparently has ditched its control dial on top for touch screen controls. I have definitely not been a fan of touch screen controlled devices, so this could be a deal breaker for me, but I am sure others will appreciate it.
