Xavier Prou aka Blek le Rat is set to launch his a solo exhibition full of new works entitled ‘Paris—New York, New York—Paris.’ A genuine pioneer of street art, Blek le Rat has used a pouchoir (stencil) technique to produce some large scale paintings while the attraction will be a video installation featuring his interventional street art pieces over the past 25 years. The French artist who will embark on his overdue first solo exhibition in NYC has provided some historical referencing for his work with social commentary through Blek’s iconic pop-culture and self-portrait based imagery. A feature of le Rat’s work is the politically motivated messages, this collection has been given a welcome addition as he has incorperated himself in the imagery, truely an epic exhibition culminating in a must see when “Paris—New York, New York—Paris” opens on October 18 at that the Jonathan Levine Gallery
