Paul McCarthy At Hauser & Wirth
Hauser & Wirth Zürich are currently playing hosts to a collection of really fascinating sculptors from Paul McCarthy. The works showcase the “raucous, exuberant mayhem” that McCarthy name is strongly associated with in art and society. Some pieces combine George Bush with pigs as McCarthy adds “I’ve always been interested in the audience being a prop,” putting an interesting twist on the subject. This talented artists creates a great effect with the colors as much as the defined works, creating a great effect with the use of vibrancy and in contrary dull and played down colors.
Something you wouldn’t think about McCarthy is he first made his mark as a performance and video artist before moving into installation art.
Thanks to Art Observed for the images.
