Polaroids has long been one of our favourite form of photography here at Slamxhype, and we recently came across this interesting book from the renown photographer Walker Evans which showcases a series of over 300 polaroid photographs presented one per page in an actual-size scale format.
Evans began to work with the Polaroid SX-70 camera in 1973. The images in his book, almost all of them unpublished, has been meticulously selected from a total of approximately 2500 polaroids that Evans left behind when he died in 1975.
While many of his works are now in the permanent collections of museums, and have been the subject of retrospectives at such institutions as The Metropolitan Museum of Art. To have the opportunity to own a book that showcases such a range of his personal material is definitely one not to be missed.
