Rammelzee, an icon on so many levels, but one that stands out and the reason for this article is his series of sculptures entitled “The Letter Racers”. For the first time ever, the collection of works will be on showcase in NYC. Spanning over some 14 years of work, the late, great Rammellzee would construct these pieces with objects found on the streets of his native city. The body of works consist of perfume caps, spray can triggers and other small, unassuming objects comprise 52 “letter racers,” armed for linguistic and galactic warfare. Opening on March 8 at 6pm, the exhibition makes for a must see.
