Legendary graffiti artist Saber is set to open a new body of work at The Outsiders in Newcastle, England on September 6. Entitled, The Ugly American, the show will be composed mostly of work created over the past seven weeks in the gallery itself. The show’s title, taken from the multi-million-copy best selling book and movie, is a synonym for all that is wrong with American foreign policy – a theme we’ve seen in the politically active Saber’s work in the past. Many of the new works are abstract in nature, while long-time fans of the artist will be pleased to know that pieces from his well known Flags series (both USA and Great Britain) will also feature in the show. The Ugly American runs until October 5, 2013.
