Sao Paulo’s Choque Cultural Gallery Struck by Vandals

Although this happened a little bit ago, we thought we would post this sad story about the Choque Cultural Gallery and their recent encounter with a group of about 30 local “pixadores” who vandalized the gallery to demonstrate their displeasure over what they view as the “domestication of street art.” They could have very easily gone about it in another way, but they chose this horrific way to get across a message that very easily could have been verbalized. They defaced numerous works created by Brazil’s burgeoning art contingency who found a home for their work at this gallery, and that is just not right.
