Shoe Box Art is a new project from Kids Company and the Bryan Adams Foundation which brings together a collection of contemporary artists to create a series of works to raise money and awareness for the charity Kid’s Company’s work with vulnerable children.

Based on a previous exhibition entitled Shoe Box Living, a perspex, doll sized tower block featuring 125 shoebox rooms created by young children, Shoe Box Art has some of today’s leading artists recreate their childhood bedrooms in a shoebox (although some have been less literal in their translation than others).  Featuring a veritable a-list selection of artists, those involved include Damien Hirst, Zaha Hadid, Jake and Dinos Chapman, David Bailey, Gavin Turk, Rob Ryan, Kate Moross and many others.

These shoeboxes are going on display at Haunch Of Venison in London from this Friday until 23rd March, and will eventually be available for auction from Shoeboxart.co.uk.
