Following Stussy’s recent collaboration with artist Jamie Hernandez they have reached back even further into their comic collections by producing a series of shirts with artwork from the legendery Basil Wolverton. One of the fathers of modern comic book art, the late Wolverton worked for DC and Marvel plus the iconic Mad Magazine and Tops trading cards, his work was massively influential on Robert Crumb and the alternative comix scene of the 60s/70s and last summer his work finally received the recognition it deserved with a retrospective at The Gladstone Gallery in New York.
