We recently showed you a preview of a new Takashi Murakami work to be shown at the Gagosian Gallery in New York. Here is the full piece, a large four-canvas painting, in his famed “Superflat” style, entitled A Picture Of The Blessed Lion Who Stares At Death. Based on the myth of Karajishi, a lion who warded off evil from Buddhist temples, it features a more traditional Japanese painting technique mixed with his more recognisable style. This vivid work is on display as part of the Takashi Murakami- A Picture of Fate: I Am But A Fisherman Who Angles In The Darkness Of His Mind exhibition until 13th October.
