The Human Body as an Art Material – Andrei Molodkin

Russian artist Andrei Molodkin has always had a healthy obsession with skulls, but his fascination with the human body has taken a more intense step forward with his newest set of works. Molodkin, which many of you will be familiar with his work for Supreme a few years back, will represent Russia at this year’s Venice Biennale. The premise for the Paris based artists work is his “claims that after spending three to six months in a high-pressure machine, a corpse becomes oil that can be used to power cars or be moulded into a permanent memorial statue to sit on the mantelpiece.” Read the full article here, to find out all the details, it might even persuade you to sign up!
