The first Monday of 2009 saw the NY Times break the news that for the first time the paper will sell significant advertising space on its front page. Th espace has in turn been bought out by CBS and follows the growing movement of publications depending on digital versions of there work, especially during this tough economic time.

No rates were issued but it remains a mystery to see what comes about of such advertising as this move from the NY Times follows The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and The Los Angeles Times selling front-page display ads while other like the The Washington Post, do not. Most definitely a story of interest here at SLAMXHYPE as we have built our surroundings online.
