“Thierry Noir: A Retrospective” Is The Artist’s First Ever Solo Show, And It’s Opening Tonight
Tonight (April 3) marks the opening of the first ever solo show by world renowned artist Thierry Noir. London’s Howard Griffin Gallery is set to present new works by the artist, who initially rose to prominence as the first guy to paint extensive lengths of the Berlin Wall in the ’80s. Often compared to Keith Haring — for his strong emphasis on line and simplified forms — Noir was at the time reacting to what he called the “killing machine.” Since then, he’s held his own on the streets alongside the likes of Phlegm and ROA (as well as in several group shows), and has built a cult following for his always-fresh, vibrant pieces. Thierry Noir: A Retrospective is definitely an event for the calendar. Prints from the show are available to order here, signed and numbered by the artist.
