Walls Are Talking: Wallpaper, Art and Culture Exhibition
Walls Are Talking: Wallpaper, Art and Culture Exhibition is the first major UK exhibition of over thirty artists’ wallpaper including Andy Warhol, Sarah Lucas and Damien Hirst. Opening on February 6th and running through until May 3rd, 2010 at The Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester, England. Grouped around themes; subversion, commodification, imprisonment and sexuality the wallpaper exhibition changes the usual concept of ‘background’ wallpaper and forces upon the viewer a repetitive look at designs and images suggesting issues of warfare, racism, cultural conflicts and gender.
